Petition: stop FIFA’s Sponsorship Deal with Aramco

FIFA’s announced partnership for the 2026 and 2027 World Cups with Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s state oil, gas and petrochemicals company, threatens the future of the beautiful game.

FIFA has a duty to protect the game for generations of players and fans to come. Extreme heat, droughts and floods threaten the lives and livelihoods of football players and fans around the world.

FIFA should lead in taking serious climate action. Yet its deal with Saudi Aramco is the exact opposite of that. Saudi Aramco has one goal: make as much money from fossil fuels for as long as possible. It uses expensive PR firms and lobbyists to achieve this goal. But more and more people see the consequences of climate chaos and want the pollution to stop. Saudi Aramco is therefore trying to use football’s greatest tournaments as a platform to improve their image and crush the backlash against fossil fuels.

We should not allow this to happen.

Saudi Aramco is the economic engine of one of the most repressive regimes in the world. The Saudi state puts people in jail for tweets, tortures, treats women as second class citizens and considers same sex relations a criminal offense.

Does FIFA really expect football players to promote this company and this country?

Football holds immense power to inspire sustainable change. good. We refuse to stand by as FIFA sacrifices the future of football and the health of our planet for short-term gain.

We demand that FIFA immediately terminate its sponsorship agreement with Saudi Aramco and take serious climate action to protect the game we all love.

Join us in holding FIFA to account.
